Privacy Online & Off

Once I watched all the different speakers on the TED talks it made me notice how there isn't much privacy on the internet. If it weren't for these TED talks I would've never known that this was such a problem. I feel as if more people should be educated on this subject just so people are aware of these issues. The internet and social media are so big in this generation which is why it is so important for people to be educated on a  topic like this. Each and every time we are just relaxing and having a conversation with your friends, whichever device you are currently using can hear you and gather all the information that you are saying. This is something that can be very alarming for people to find out, hence why I think this matter should be discussed more often. Have you ever noticed how you're talking about something with your friends and the next minute an advertisement pops up for the same thing you were just discussing? This just proves that technology is always listening to you and all the different things you are saying. 

Having online privacy is essential for everyone. There are many things that people want to keep to themselves and have privacy over.  Many claim that the government should do something about this issue. There are many things that could be in place and done to help these ongoing issues. Although, before you start using the internet and social media, people need to realize everything is connected to your digital footprint. Every post whether you delete it or not is always up on your footprint. This is something that many people forget before they post something online. All in all, many people need to be more cautious of what they post online due to the fact that there is such a lack of privacy when online.
